DESCRIPTION

This is one of the several bank exams conducted by IBPS. It is held for recruitment to Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) or Gramin Banks. Find information regarding paper pattern, exam dates, etc. and grab the upcoming vacancy in banks.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Written Examination (CWE) on behalf of 62 Regional Rural Banks as a per-requisite for selection of Group A Officers (Scale-I, II, III) and Group B Assistants (Multipurpose). The final recruitment is conducted independently by each participating RRB which issues a separate notification specifying the number of vacancies and eligibility criteria.

Following are the basic criteria for applying to the IBPS RRB exam. However, each bank will have its own criteria which the candidate needs to fulfill for being eligible for selection to the particular post

Nationality

A candidate must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 01/01/1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India,

provided that a candidate belonging to categories above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the the Indian government.

Age Limits:

Age (as on 01-07-2013 for September 2013 exam)
Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Between 18 – 28 years (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02/07/1985 and later than 01/07/1995)
Officer Scale – I: Between 18 – 28 years (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03/07/1985 and later than 30/06/1995)
Officer Scale – II: Between 21 – 32 years (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03/07/1981 and later than 30/06/1992)
Officer Scale – III: Between 21 – 40 years (Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03/07/1973 and later than 30/06/1992)

Exam Format
The exam is an objective test conducted online.

  • Register and get the registration number and password.
  • The application fee for General category is Rs. 450 for Officer (Scale I, II & III) or Rs. 350 for Office Assistant (Multipurpose). Pay using either:
    • Online Mode – Debit / Credit cards (Master/Visa only) or Internet Banking
    • Offline Mode – CBS branches of any of the following public sector banks – Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India
  • A candidate applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) can also apply for anyone post in officer cadre viz. Officer Scale – I, Scale-II or Scale-III. The application and fees have to be paid separately for each post.
