MPPSC Prelims which is objective in nature consists of two parts-
1. General Studies (2 hours) – 200 marks
2. General Aptitude Test (2 hours) – 200 marks

Mains Examination Pattern
Aspirants who cleared the preliminary exam are then allowed to appear for the mains examination. The number of candidates selected to appear for the mains exam is fifteen times more than the number of available vacancies. Unlike prelims examination, mains paper is descriptive and analytical too. A Candidate must have a clear understanding of concepts and should know the recent trends as well as the skill of how to link answers with current affairs. Previous year question papers enable you to understand the pattern of asked question, how and what to write within the word limit. Practice answer writing daily for at-least an answer improves your writing skills and time management. Solving complete paper within the given time limit helps avoiding problem in final examination.
