About UPSC Exam

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s Central Recruiting Agency. It is responsible for the appointments to and examinations for the All India Services and group A & group B of the Central Services. It is one of the most awaited exams at the national level. Every year UPSC releases its schedule for the examinations to be conducted in the upcoming year. The examination is divided into two phases the first one is the Preliminary Examination in which lakhs of students take part all around the nation, the second one is the written Mains examination & Personal Interview; all of which are mentioned elaborately in our UPSC section.

The Civil Services(UPSC) Examination offers the widest range of jobs in India and is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). UPSC Age Limit for Civil Services Exam 2022

The candidates must have attained 21 years of age and be less than 32 years of age as of 1st August 2022 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1990 and not later than 1st August 2001. The official notification will carry the details about the age for UPSC Exam 2022.

UPSC Educational Qualification for Civil Services Exam 2022:-

The various academic requirements as per the IAS Eligibility Criteria are given below:

  • Minimum qualification for UPSC exam: The candidate must hold a degree from Government recognised Universities or possess an equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates who are in their final year or awaiting results are also eligible to appear for UPSC preliminary Examination. All such candidates who are likely to appear for IAS exams must produce proof of having passed the said examination along with the application for the main IAS examination.
  • Candidates having professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees.
  • Medical students who have passed the final year of MBBS, but are yet to complete their internship also have eligibility for IAS. Although, along with the Main Examination application, a certificate of course completion (including internship) from the concerned authority of the University/Institution has to be submitted.

UPSC Nationality for Civil Services Exam 2022:

For IAS and IPS:

The candidate must be a citizen of India

All other Services:

Candidate must be either:

A citizen of India, or

A subject of Nepal, or

A subject of Bhutan, or

A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle in India permanently, or

A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Zaire and Vietnam intending to settle in India permanently.

The candidates belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) should furnish a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. Such candidates may take the exam before getting the said certificate of eligibility, but he/she would get the offer of appointment only after the Government of India has issued the certificate.

Point to Note: A person belonging to categories (2), (3) and (4) are not eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

UPSC 2022 Exam Pattern

PLAN OF EXAMINATION

The Civil Services Examination comprises two successive stages:

(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for Civil Services (Main) Examination; and

(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview/Personality Test) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.

(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination:-

The Preliminary Examination which is common for both Civil services and Forest service is conducted during May or June every year. It consists of two papers - one is held in the forenoon and the other in the afternoon of the same day and both papers consist of a set of multiple-choice questions. 

The forenoon session is General Studies Paper–I where questions are based on general awareness and other topics as mentioned in the syllabus. In the afternoon session is CSAT – Paper II where questions are based on Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning and Verbal ability as mentioned in the syllabus. Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers.

Result

  • Paper I marks is used for the selection of candidates for the mains examination.
  • Paper-II marks is a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33% (i.e 66 marks).
  • Two sets of results are published - one list is for those who qualified for Civil Service Mains Examinations and the other list is for those who qualified for Forest Service Mains Examination.
  • This is only a screening test, marks will not be added in calculating final results.

(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview/Personality Test):-

The Civil Services (Main) Examination will consist of a Written Examination and an

Interview/Personality Test. The Written Examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the subjects. Marks obtained for all the compulsory papers (Paper-I to Paper-VII) and Marks obtained in the Interview/Personality Test will be counted for ranking.

Essay: Candidates may be required to write essays on multiple topics. They will be expected to keep close to the subject of the essay to arrange their ideas in an orderly fashion and to write concisely. Credit will be given for effective and exact expression.

MPPSC Exam

About MPPSC Exam

Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission State Service Exam is conducted for recruitment to various posts in government departments and offices of the state of Madhya Pradesh. This exam is conducted in two phases i.e. preliminary exam and main exam and interview. The candidates who clear the preliminary examination are allowed to appear in the main examination. The number of candidates admitted to appear in the main examination is about fifteen times the number of vacancies available. However, the best candidates who clear the main exam and the following process are recruited into various posts in the respective government departments.

MPPSC Eligibility Criteria 2021-22

The detailed MPPSC exam Eligibility criteria, Age limit, Qualifications and Physical Conditions are given below:-

The MPPSC (Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission) is the authority that specifies the Eligibility Criteria for candidates for the state service 2021 exam. The MPPSC age limit, qualification, and rules of domicile are explained in this section. It will help candidates understand their chances of appearing for the MPPSC examination 2021 based on the 2020-21 eligibility criteria. For convenience, we have also added the physical requirements for the Police Services exam 2021 specified by MPPSC this is based on the MPPSC Previous year eligibility requirement.


  1. The candidate must be a Citizen of India .

  2. Male candidates with more than one wife (living) are not eligible.

  3. Female candidates who have married a person already having a wife (living) are not eligible.

  4. Candidates claiming age relaxation/reservation in more than one category for the MPPSC Exam shall be entitled to only one concession, whichever is more beneficial.

  5. Candidates who are declared guilty by the court for a crime against women will not be eligible for the examination. However, the candidates against whom the court verdict for the said cases are due, may sit for the examination but will be posted only after the final verdict is out (And he/she isn’t guilty).

Minimum Educational Qualification: -

  1. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University or equivalent qualification.

  2. Candidates possessing Professional and Technical qualifications, which are recognized by the State Government as equivalent to a Professional or Technical degree.

  3. Such candidates, who have appeared in any examination in which after passing, they are under academic examination under the Commission's examination. But the result of which has not been announced and the candidates who want to appear in such non-examination With the intention, they will be eligible for admission to the pre-examination. All such candidates who have appeared in the State Service Main Examination are required to pass Graduate/equivalent by the last date to apply for the main examination. Candidates who have not passed graduation/equivalent till the last day to submit the application for the main examination shall Not be Eligible to apply for the main examination.   4. Such Candidates who have professional or technical qualifications, which are Equivalent to technical degrees recognized by the State Government will be eligible for admission to the examination.

  5.  For the post of District/Area Convenor and Tribal, Welfare Department preference will be given to those candidates who have taken sociology as a subject at the graduation level. Preferred means that in the event of having equal marks, the final selection of candidates will depend on the alphabetical order who has taken Sociology as a subject at the undergraduate level.

Domicile Rule for MPPSC 2020-21:-

Candidates applying for MPPSC exam 2021 for State Services must check the following domicile rules -

  • The candidates must be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.

  • The candidate must have completed his/her higher education, i.e., 10 th & 12 th from Madhya Pradesh.

  • Each paper will consist of a total of 100 questions and for each right answer student will get 2 marks.

  • The prelims stage has a total of 400 marks and total duration of which is 4 hours.

  • There is no negative marking for the Prelims of MPPSC State service exam, hence a candidate is suggested to answer the 100% question in the exam.

  • The Question paper will be in Both English and Hindi Languages.

  • The candidates appearing for the exam shall be provided an OMR Sheet to mark the answers. Candidates should make sure that they mark the entire circle properly.

  • The fourth question paper of General Studies is divided into 05 units, in which from the first to the fourth unit, 05 very short answer questions, 02 short answer questions and 01 long answer question or essay questions will have to be answered from each unit. The number of questions can be reduced or increased as required.

  • From the first to fourth unit, each unit will carry 02 marks for each very short answer question and 05 marks for each short answer question and 20 marks for each long answer question.

  • Thus from the first to the fourth unit, the maximum marks for each unit will be 40.

  • In the fifth unit of the question paper, you will have to write a review note of 02 case studies from the entire syllabus. 20 marks will be awarded for each case study.

  • There will be a total of 200 in this paper.

  • The ideal word limit of each very short answer question will be 10 words / one line.

  • The ideal word limit for each short answer question will be 50 words / 5 to 6 lines.

  • The ideal word limit for each long answer question will be 200 words.

5) The Fifth Question paper has a maximum 200 marks and the time will be 3 hours.


  • The fifth question paper will be of General Hindi and Grammar.

  • In the first question, there will be a total of 25 questions, which will be asked from the entire syllabus. Each question will carry 03 marks.

  • The second question will be related to Alankar. In which 02 questions will be asked. Each question will carry 05 marks.

  • In the third question, there will be 02 sub-questions in which the translation of sentences from Hindi to English will be of 20 marks and English to Hindi will be of 15 marks. Thus the total marks for translation will be 35.

  • The fourth question will be related to Hindi grammar in which questions will be asked from Sandhi, Samas, punctuation etc. There will be a total of 20 marks in it.

  • The fifth question will be related to elementary grammar and vocabulary. Its total marks will be 20.

  • The sixth question will be related to an unread passage. There will be a total of 20 marks in it.

  • The seventh question will be related to Pallavan or Bhav-Pallavan. It will have a total of 10 marks.

  • The eighth question will be related to summarization of the passage. It will have a total of 10 marks.

  • The number of questions can be reduced or increased as required. A question may also divide in sub questions as needed.


6) Sixth Question paper has a maximum 100 marks and time will be 2 hours.


  • The Sixth Question paper will be of Hindi essay and Format writing.

  • There will be a total of three questions in the question paper.

  • Question number-1 will be the first essay in which an essay of 1000 words will have to be written. The question will have an internal option. This question will be of 50 marks.

  • Question number-2 will be related to the current problem and diagnosis. In which an essay of about 500 words will have to be written in Hindi. The question will have an internal option. This question will be of 25 marks.

  • Question number-3 will be related to format writing. In this, any two formats have to be written in Hindi. The ideal word limit in each format writing would be 250 words. The question will have an internal option. This question will be of 25 marks.

  • The number of questions can be reduced or increased as required. A question may also have sub-questions as needed.

Interview/Personality Test:-

This is the last stage of the selection process of MPPSC State Service Recruitment 2020/21.. Candidates who clear the Main exam will be eligible for the interview test conducted by the Commission.

पंचम प्रश्न पत्र

सामान्य हिन्दी एवं व्याकरण


 

इस प्रश्नपत्र का स्तर स्नातक परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण छात्रों के समकक्ष होगा। इसका उद्देश्य उम्मीदवार की पढ़ने व समझने, भाषायी दक्षता, लेखन की योग्यता एवं हिन्दी में स्पष्ट तथा सही विचार व्यक्त करने की क्षमता का मूल्यांकन करना है।

सामान्यतः निम्नलिखित विषय-सामग्री पर प्रश्न पूछे जाएंगे। 

(क) लघुत्तरीय प्रश्न - निर्धारित सम्पूर्ण पाठ्यक्रम के अंतर्गत ही पूछे जाएंगे।

(ख) अलंकार - शब्दालंकार-अनुप्रास, यमक,श्लेष 

        अर्थालंकार- उपमा, रूपक, उत्प्रेक्षा

(ग) अनुवाद वाक्यों का:- हिन्दी से अंग्रेजी एवं अंग्रेजी से हिन्दी। 

(घ) (1) संधि एवं समास (2) विराम चिह।

(ड) प्रारंभिक व्याकरण एवं शब्दावलियाँ-

  1. प्रशासनिक परिभाषिक शब्दावली (हिन्दी/अंग्रेजी) 

  2. मुहावरे एवं कहावतें 

  3. विलोम शब्द 

  4. अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द

षष्ठ प्रश्नपत्र  

हिन्दी निबंध एवं प्रारूप लेखन


  1. प्रथम निबंध (लगभग 1000 शब्दों में) : निम्नलिखित क्षेत्रों से निबंध पूछा जा सकता है। जैसे- पर्यावरण, विज्ञान, धर्म-आध्यात्म, शिक्षा में गुणवत्ता, आधुनिकीकरण, भूमंडलीकरण, उदारीकरण, कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता, परम्परागत खेल, सांस्कृतिक विरासत, सभ्यता एवं संस्कृति, योग एवं स्वास्थ्य, ई-मार्केटिंग, ई-कॉमर्स, नेतृत्व एवं विकास, सुशासन, नौकरशाही, जनजातीय विकास, राष्ट्रवाद एवं राष्ट्रीय एकता, सामुदायिक जीवन, सामाजिक सरोकार, नवीनीकरणीय ऊर्जा, सतत् विकास लक्ष्य, मादक पदार्थों का सेवन एवं दुष्प्रभाव, घरेलू हिंसा, बाह्य एवं आंतरिक सुरक्षा के मुद्दे, व्यवसायगत सरलता आदि।

  2. द्वितीय निबंध (लगभग 500 शब्दों में) - समसामयिक समस्याएँ एवं निदान।

  3. प्रारूप लेखन (लगभग 250 शब्दों में) - शासकीय व अर्ध शासकीय पत्र, परिपत्र (सक्यूलर), प्रपत्र, विज्ञापन, आदेश, पृष्ठाकन, अनुस्मारक (स्मरण पत्र), प्रतिवेदन (रिपोर्ट राइटिंग) अधिसूचना (नोटिफिकेशन), टिप्पण लेखन आदि। (कोई दो)


टीप: चूंकि इस प्रश्न पत्र का उद्देश्य ही अभ्‍यर्थी की हिन्दी भाषा की अभिव्यक्ति एवं उसके सामान्‍य हिन्‍दी के ज्ञान का परीक्षण करना है। अतः इस प्रश्न पत्र के उत्तर देने का माध्यम केवल हिन्दी रखा गया है।
